The centre-right New Democracy party, led by Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has won a decisive victory in the Greek election, granting him a second four-year term and a strong majority in parliament.

The centre-right New Democracy party, led by Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has won a decisive victory in the Greek election, granting him a second four-year term and a strong majority in parliament.

T he New Democracy party in Greece, led by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has won a significant victory in the country’s recent election. This result grants Mitsotakis a second four-year term as prime minister and secures an outright majority in parliament with 158 of the 300 seats.

A Comfortable Victory

With nearly 99% of ballots counted, the centre-right New Democracy party achieved 40.56% of the vote. In contrast, the centre-left Syriza party, led by Alexis Tsipras, received only 17.85% of the vote, worse than its performance in the previous election.
